"You can be anything you want to be"
Two interpretations:
You can, indeed, be anything you set your mind to. That with enough hard work and persistance, you and I can have a shot in the NBA draft, regardless of our height. Or that each of us has the same share of potential to be the next American Idol, irregardless of our vocal range.
Another way to think about it is that while it’s incredibly difficult to get picked by a publisher, talent scout, or music label, it’s super easy to pick yourself.
That if you want to learn how to play a sport or share your music online, or write a book and publish it yourself, there is no better time.
That you can be a kinder, smarter, or more confident human being if you want to. That you can become someone who you’re proud of if you’re willing to lean in.
There are no gatekeepers in the world of trying on many hats (only in being paid to wear one).
