Why the rush?
Growing up in the suburbs, I've often wondered why people are in such a rush to rush.
I mean, I get it. People to see, places to go, work to do. But it seems to me that given the abundance of time that everyone has, and the surplus of wealth, everyone could make time for a little more time.
Because that's all it takes. A longer, slower commute is a more tranquil one. A more pleasant one. And, of course, a safer one.
It's also great for the psyche, since acting like you have more time than you need (because you do) is a great way to not feel so rushed.
People always ask me, "how is it you seem so relaxed, so care-free?" It's no secret. I'm just in no hurry.
To paraphrase Lao Tzu: Nature doesn't. Still everything gets done.
