What to do after college
A few friends of mine are having trouble navigating post-graduation life (shipping out resumes to no avail, struggling to land a job in their niche, feeling like college was a waste), so I thought I’d compile some of the best advice I’ve found on the topic.
It’s far from comprehensive, but it’s a good starting point (and something I wish I had when I was starting out).
Pursue what you’re good at.
Choose something and run with it. (A bad start is better than not starting.)
Look for jobs at small-companies.
Read Johnny Bunko, twice.
Regularly network and make connections.
Learn how to lead up.
Unless there’s a clear path forward, don’t assume more school is the answer. Teach yourself instead.
Better yet, create a body of work that speaks for itself (and that makes you the obvious choice in the job pool).
