What money can buy
Four hundred dollars is still four hundred dollars, no matter how wealthy you are.
Which means that with the same amount, you can buy:
An Oculus Quest.
This purse.
Dinner and a movie (for two) and a nice night in an Airbnb.
Two dozen (mind-blowing) books. Maybe more.
Two years worth of world-class learning, or a mere fraction of a college-loan.
Website hosting for about 2 years.
Enough to change a life, indefinitely. Or to fund a pretty decent lemonade stand.
A little less than 400 chocolate bars to share with your friends.
Four hundred dollars saved. ($800 earned).
Acknowledging that you can split your 400 not just one way, but multiple ways, that you can get more (or less) relative value with the same absolute amount…that’s what it means to understand ‘the value of money.’
It takes a bit of effort to see what’s it worth, but it’s perhaps the best way to ensure you end up getting it.
