Timing’s everything

Asking someone out to prom works better when you’re in high school than when you’re forty.

And asking a friend for a favor is more effective when they actually are your friend—not one long forgotten.

Point is, urgency pays. It might not feel like the right moment in the moment, but it sure beats doing something far too late.
