Throughput maxims

What must happen ultimately, should happen as soon as possible.

That which you expect will be done poorly, shouldn’t be done at all.

Quit often; say ‘no’ to more projects and tasks than you say ‘yes.’

Finish on time. Leave on time. Ship on time. Don’t be late.

Invest in slack. Give yourself more time than you have work to do. And certainly more time than you think you need.
