This is my thousandth post
A few things I've learned so far:
Streaks work. Your tenth post in a streak of 9 is significantly easier to write than starting from zero.
So does practice. If you do something consistently, you'll almost certainly get better with time.
Perfectionism is a trap best to be avoided. I never would have gotten to post 1,000 (let alone 100) if every post before it had to be perfect.
The first 1,000 really are the hardest. It's all downhill from here.
A daily writing habit is a gift. A free form of therapy, and--in turbulent times--about the best way I know to stay sane.
Having an option is a good thing to have. Sharing it is a great thing to do. But, best of all is inviting others to join the conversation...openly, honestly, and respectfully. (You can't change things in a vacuum.)
That anyone is willing to spend a few minutes to read what you wrote (when there's so much to read, see, or do) is a tremendous privilege. Not to be taken lightly, for sure.
Thanks for reading!
