The virtue of finding the answer
It turns out most programmers don’t become great at what they do by memorizing everything they need to know to code a website or app from scratch.
Instead, what they are good at is knowing that a solution to their problem exists, and then finding an answer to it.
Fortunately, since developers are already on the web, the answer usually isn’t too hard to find.
And, once they’ve done this a few times, they’ll typically remember what they learned, ensuring they’ll never have to look it up next time.
It’s an apt metaphor. Because, after all, no one is perfect. And now, more than ever, no one has all the answers.
But knowing their’s a solution, a workaround, something that’s worked before—and having the willingness, the skill, and the eye to find it—that’s a quality worth investing in.
