The tradeoffs of luxury
How much longer do you have to exercise to burn off that large latte as opposed to a small?
Or pay for an additional 300 square feet of real estate at your new digs? Or a supposedly faster or sleeker automobile?
What do you get out of paying for better than average? For the status of bigger or nicer or fancier than everyone in your circle?
Is it worth the tradeoff?
In the time or effort you have to expend to afford it? In the things you have to accumulate to fill the void? In the posture you have to maintain to keep your standing?
Every choice has a cost. Even the “better” ones.
