The limitations of books
Books, however cheap, cost money. And although books often pay for themselves, there’s no sense buying a dozen books if you can’t yet afford to buy time to read them.
That said, it also takes time to read them. Time you could be spending doing other fun things like exercising or making connections or learning a useful skill that pays well.
Books take up space. If you amass enough, you’ll need a bookcase (or two).
And, the more books you buy, the more you’ll feel compelled to read them. Which brings up another point:
You’ll be more compelled to read the books you’ve already bought (but not yet read), rather than the book you might not yet have, even if the latter book is more interesting, informative or relevant to where you are in your life.
Finally, a book will never directly change your life. Only you can do that.
Of course, if you have the time and attention span to read a great book that might expand your worldview, enhance your thinking, or advance your actions, now is as good a time as ever to read it.
