The gratitude habit
A large part of being able to embrace ‘adequate-ism’ is acknowledging how good you already have it.
Because maybe you don't need more--more status, more money, more stuff--to be happy...you might even be better off with less.
Being able to live happily with what you have (physically and emotionally) isn't a mind-hack or an in-born trait. It's a symptom of regularly embracing gratitude. (A habit that pays more than it costs, if you ask me).
Of course, just as with any practice, you have to start somewhere. Which is to say, if you haven't already, you might as well start today.

Also! To celebrate the adequateism movement (the pursuit of satisfactory, moderation and 'good enough'), I made a few dozen of these super cool Adequate bumper-stickers (a spoof on a certain popular brand logo). A great gift for your friends or yourself, and did I mention they're free!
Send me an email with your name and address, and I'll have one shipped to you ASAP. (US orders only please, while supplies last!)
