Sticking with what works
It can be awfully tempting to switch to the latest greatest trick, tool, or technique.
But if the time it takes to make the switch viable doesn’t justify the value of using it, it’s probably better to stick with what you’ve got.
Sure. If ditching the old for the new makes you or your work better in the short run or the long run, keep at it. No harm, no fowl.
But—if it doesn’t add value, it's not worth the bargain (and it is a bargain).
More often that not—exchanging the sufficient for the state-of-the-art is a crutch.
