Cory Doctorow makes a good case that if you write for just 20 minutes a day, you can write a novel in a year.
Of course, it doesn’t have to be a novel. It can be anything. A more leaner or stronger version of you. A degree, certificate, side-hustle, or job. A more composed state of mind. Better relationships with your (new) friends, family or significant other. A body of knowledge in a topic you’re interested in, or mastery of a skill.
Is it really any wonder how some people manage to accomplish extraordinary things, or become consummate in what they do best. There’s no secret formula.
They’ve merely figured out how to carve out a small fraction of time out of their busy lives to routinely do a thing that most people will never do.
Losing thirty pounds or writing a thousand posts isn’t any more difficult than practicing regular hygiene. The difficult part is making the time, everyday, and continuing to continue.
