Scratchpads and clipboards
A scratchpad is a pad of paper used to jot down preliminary notes (for writers) or sketches (for artists).
Borrowed from computer speak, where it’s commonly referred to as the high-speed memory your computer uses to ‘save’ work in progress, it's a very useful tool to 'save' drafts as they come to you.
Because nothing is perfect the first time. And having a space to cut and copy and paste and edit and generally move things around on your way to making them better is a life-save.
Pair this with a tool like Jumpcut—which saves your clipboard history up to 50 times—and you have a recipe for creative success.
Skilled draftsmen make great artists.
