Resolving known issues
Ikea has a problem.
Thousands of it’s BEKANT standing desks have a glitch. Not with table itself, but with the 35 volt motor that powers it.
At some point, all of a sudden, it will stop moving up or down. Or, more often, simply stop moving up but move down. (A parcarious pickle to be in, considering just how far it can go.)
Unfortunately, despite that fact that IKEA (the business) knows that there’s an issue, many of their customers don’t. And to make matters worse, not many of their service reps do either.
That’s why their are dozens of videos like this one, that claim the solution is to replace the motor, while dozens of confused service reps are telling customers to replace the entire device.
Fortunately, the solution is much easier to fix. It takes just 15 seconds.
Alas, why IKEA doesn’t mention this anywhere on their site is beyond any of us.
Despite the fact that addressing this single known issue could save thousands of hours of headaches, service calls, grievances and the like, for their customers and their staff.
