Perspective management
Go the library. Pick up any book. Find a page at random. Read the first paragraph you see.
Think it over.
Do you agree? Disagree? Why?
Does this relate to something you’ve read or seen or experienced? How?
Any additional comments or criticisms? What?
Even if you don’t understand the context, surely you have an opinion.
Everyone does.
Writing is merely the process of getting those thoughts out in a way that’s coherent and concise. Whether your style is technical or comedic, persuasive or poetic, descriptive or anecdotic, the purpose is the same.
The approach, the text, the style, it’s all secondary.
The point is to have a point of view, throughout.
