Modern luxuries
I recently drove my car to see my girlfriend.
I took the long route and I didn’t rush. In fact, I cruised along, a few notches slower than the limit.
I enjoyed myself as the world unfolded around me, while other cars—ostensibly too busy to care or notice—flew by.
Similarly, just the other day, I took a walk around my block.
It was 2:15 on a weekday. The weather was near perfect. And I enjoyed every step.
And, yesterday, while at work, I stopped what I was doing, closed my laptop, and for all of 60 seconds, savored a chocolate bar I had by my desk.
It was magnificent. Pure delight.
Luxury doesn’t have to be expensive. And modern doesn’t have to be new.
Despite what any advertiser, marketer, or social influencer would have you believe.
