It is what it is
There are actually two ways to say it.
One, as you may have guessed, is to say it as it is. To throw your circumstances up in the air and accept where they land.
To merely receive your fate. And in doing so, to do little to change it.
The second way is equal parts acceptance and hope. Accepting the inevitable—what is, what’s transpired, what you couldn’t have done better if you tried.
And hope. Hope in a better future. Hope that you’ll get through this. Hope that you’ll learn from your mistakes and find a way to do more.
Serenity, of course, is a virtue. But it matters what you mean by it.
