Intellectual arbitrage

Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of ‘copy, paste and share’ posts cropping up on social media, many of which are some micro-rant about current events, doing your own research, and thinking for yourself.

Few people seem to recognize that the act of plagiarism inherent in reposting is itself an act of narrow-mindedness.

Copying someone’s opinion, of course, isn’t nearly as effective or convincing as forming and defending your own.
