‘I type at 81 words per minute’
Does how fast you type relate to how good a writer you are?
How about how fast you learn? Does it make you a better learner? Or more productive team player?
Or consider how many mistakes you make starting out? Is this a good way to determine how well you’ll perform in 6 months or 6 years?
It’s fine to measure something if it’s an honest indicator (or predictor) of your performance.
But too often, it’s merely a false front.
