Hybrid jobs (and how to get there)
Stuck on what’s next? Not sure between two options (or a dozen).
Enroll in everything.
Pay for one, take (cheap) courses in the others. Seek a role in one, or make a job in all.
Use what you learn from all domains to bootstrap yourself into a degree, a job, or a career that resonates with you on all fronts. A hybrid job, something new.
Corporations do it all the time. They “make up” a job to fill a function—that’s where new jobs come from. Think about it, there wasn’t a job for a UX researcher or creative technologist ten years ago. Someone, indeed many someones, uncovered the need, created the position, and as the word spread and demand grew, more companies adopted it until it became ubiquitous.
You can do something similar.
Stuck on two interests? Do both. Divided tripartite? Dabble in three. More than that? Try all (maybe just not at the same time).
Indeed, try everything. The only downside I can think of is you might learn something new.
