How to memorize something in 2021
Write down what you want to remember. Could a mound of text or a story or random facts—write it all down in your text editor of choice.
Publish it online. Open an anonymous Medium account if you have to.
Save it to your Instapaper account (create one if you don’t). Then buy Instapaper premium (it’s $2.99/month).
Download the Instapaper app on your phone. You should now see the article(s) you saved.
Tap the 3 dots in the upper-right corner, tap “playlist,” and select your article. Tap “Create Playlist.” It will repeat your article via Instapaper’s text-to-speech feature.
Play it on .5x speed 50 times (in your car, while you drive). Pretty soon, you’ll know what to expect, and you’ll start rehearsing (memorizing) the text.
You can even apply this using mnemonic techniques, such as by creating an abstractly visual story to memorize words or concepts and then using this process to memorize it.
Looking for a free version? Skip steps 2-5 and upload your text to ttsreader instead. (I like the English, UK, Female voice on slow.)
