How quick are you to recover...
From constructive feedback?
Or a brief setback?
From the Friday-night slight in your otherwise strict dietary protocol?
Or a moment of discouragement?
From rejection of all kinds?
Or an hour (or three) of sufficient frustration?
Making yourself miserable is a silly and sadistic way to sabotage your progress. Far better to see our circumstances for what they are (an opportunity to learn or grow), than to spend a day and a half venting because your world is imperfect or uneasy.
The sooner you’re able to bypass the temptation to amplify your emotions, to exchange your antagonism for compassion, and to instead do something practical with what you now know, the sooner you’ll be on your way to creating an up-cycle. One where upsets of all kinds lead to more tolerance, more enthusiasm, and more output.
