How do things of incredible value come about?

Generally, people, people just like you and me, hack them into being. They set a goal to create something world-changing and then they fail until they find out what works.

More often than not, people don't start out with a concrete "I'm going to do this and this will work and I'll be successful" plan. No. More often than not, people (inventors, creators and artists of all kind) make it up as they go along. 

Edison never had a degree in electrical engineering because it didn't yet exist. How could it?
