What’s it mean to go to a top school? Or a private one?
What’s it for?
Does it inherently make someone smarter or more able?
Or is it a gimmick? A false pretense? Or, an arbitrary qualifier?
If you’re willing to give them a chance, you’ll find that people from less than stellar backgrounds are often just as, if not more, capable than those who are.
A diploma from an elite school is a vanity metric. One that’s often not entirely based on merit.
It’s mainly a signal of status, privilege, and luck.
