Going because you can
It’s one thing to go to the library because you have to study for the exam you have tomorrow. Or because you have homework due. Or because you have a paper to finish.
Going to the library because you can is an entirely different endeavor.
You’re not being forced by external pressures. You’re going because it’s just about the best (free) place available to work on a project or learn a skill or read or research in silence.
You’re there because you’re famished
It’s entirely possible to bypass a $500+ per credit education and take a few courses on your own. To learn at your own pace. To go to the library for a few hours every weekend and learn something new.
Challenging. Far more challenging than being given a road map or a stack of standardized tests.
But possible. Cheaper. And (probably) more rewarding.
