Goals, milestones, and strategies
A goal is a predefined objective. A target with a deadline. An ambition, a vision, or a dream.
One goal you might have this year, for example, might be to lose 20 pounds by the next one.
A milestone is a stage of development. A checkpoint or an achievement on your way to realizing a goal.
For example: A milestone for losing those 20 pounds might be to get rid of all the junk in your fridge and pantry. Or to go all of 60 days without eating sweets.
Finally, a strategy is a game plan. A course of action or a scheme. For any goal or milestone, there might be dozens or hundreds of strategies, with just a few more effective or efficient than all the rest.
A diet is a strategy. As is changing your eating habits, moving more, or doing both.
Point is, we all have goals, milestones, and strategies for achieving them. Sometimes they align for some people in the same situations. But other times and more often, they don't.
