Getting settled to write (a checklist)
Make sure you’re computer is charged at 100%…cut the cord unless you’re pulling an all-nighter
Go to the library or a similar place…#quiet
Preferably not your bedroom (it’s distracting)
Bring something to drink in case you get thirsty…grab a coffee if you’re sleepy
Go to the bathroom beforehand…go twice
Find somewhere to sit alone…preferably as far away from the teenagers as possible
Choose a spot with good amount of light…Edgar Poe was the only person who ever wrote anything good in the dark
Choose a chair that’s flat…I have no clue why someone would put a un-level chair in a place where people go to focus
Choose a simple and unbiased wallpaper
Close all programs…especially Messenger
Open your word processor…I like this one
Forget everything you think you know about writer’s block
Give up seeking perfect…aim to write something (anything) merely better than your last iteration
There. I think you’re ready.
