Everyone needs a lick-lick pad
I'm a lot more likely to go to the gym when I find something entertaining to do while I'm there, like listening to a podcast or playlist.
Similarly, I’m more willing to eat real food (as opposed to junk food) when I actually enjoy what I’m eating.
And, I'm more inclined to take my girlfriend shopping when there's something for me to do while I wait, like sitting in the local cafe and writing this post.
For dogs and humans alike, distraction can be a helpful tool if it gets us to do the essential things we otherwise wouldn't enjoy doing.
From going to bed early (or getting out of bed on time), to staying in shape, to getting things done, everything is easier when you're at least sort-of enjoying yourself.
Who said work can't be fun?
