Craftsmanship vs. convenience
Some people (a few people) are willing to pay more for better things.
One the other hand, most people (by default) opt for the easy, cheap and accepted option.
Which means as an entrepreneur, artist or (even) educator, you have two options: do you cater to the folks who want more, or to those care for less?
The former will attract a significantly smaller audience, so you’ll have to charge more (and consistently be worth more than you cost).
The later will force you to find ways to cut costs (and corners) to keep costs down, to appeal to ‘everyone’, and to compete for mass adoption.
Ever-better or cheaper? It’s a choice. And it helps to know which path you’re on from the start.
