Confusing more with better
One well-written sentence is worth more than a lousy paragraph.
One fantastic meal is better than three bland ones.
And one outstanding fundraiser beats five with a lackluster turnout.
It’s easy to confuse ‘more’ with ‘better.’
Because when the quality of something is constant, increasing its quantity is best.
On the other hand, when more means worse—as it often does—it’s not better.
It’s less.
