Comparative psyche
If you want to reliably compare yourself to others, there’s never been a better time.
Consider Luxury Estate, a site that showcases the world’s most luxurious real estate, and a great way to convince yourself you’re (probably) in the wrong line of work.
Or peruse the celeb magazines while you're in line at the grocery store. Dozens of people living supposedly better lives than you.
Or browse social media for an hour, with its constant feed of vacations and fun-filled happenings most of which you're likely not invited to, celebrated by friends and colleagues alike.
If seeking out FOMO by way of social comparison makes you more competitive, have at it.
Of course, if you find that it just makes you feel miserable, don't expect indulging in more of it to be the cure.
