Cluttering the closet
Many people wonder (I know I have) how websites tend to get overcrowded with multiple pages serving multiple ends.
Here’s a simple explanation: it’s easier to push for more content than it is to decide to cut anything out that might have repercussions later.
So you build a new page around a topic that has negligible search volume as opposed to removing pages that could be holding you back from acquiring dozens more leads. Or you continue to write blogs instead of doing an audit to refresh or eliminate old ones.
As with a messy closet, it’s more tempting to add more instead of decluttering, even when doing so makes the task of finding what to wear much more difficult.
