But what if I choose wrong?
Given the profusion of options, time constraints, and the fact that we're all largely incapable of predicting the future, there's a very high likelihood that you will.
And so for just about every choice we make, we have just about 3 choices.
Make a choice, then second-guess yourself every chance you get. To change course when and if theirs any indication you chose wrong. And to berate yourself when you inevitably discover when you do.
Sabotage your future by not choosing, while waiting to find your perfect, definite, and therefore quixotic answer.
Make the best choice you can with the information you have now, and stick to it until you reach a point when you realize you should make a better one.
Giving ourselves permission to fail, to choose wrong and to live with our answer, is the first step in becoming someone who's capable of making rational decisions, decisively.
And, living with our choices, long enough for us to discover if they really were the right choices for us, is how we learn to make better ones.
