Bigger billboards
I was driving home the other day and noticed a few billboards outside for local politicians.
They were all in different sizes. Some small, some large. One was two times the size as two others, with the same amount of text.
In fact, they displayed the same text: their name, website, and the year they were running. One had hashtags. That was it.
It strikes me as odd that many of these campaigner’s figure that the best way to differentiate themselves is to pay for a bigger ad.
Because (a little) more visibility doesn’t win anything. Not even attention. And especially not trust.
No. What gets talked about, what gets spread are stories, movements, and something (someone) to believe in.
Bigger isn’t always better. But bigger ideas certainly are.
