Bears repeating
Something I’ve learned is that the most helpful things you can learn in a book or audio program are things that bear repeating.
Because, of course, we often forget. Or worse, we ignore.
Make no mistake: learning new things about the world (or your industry) is a great way to spend an afternoon. But most of the ideas that are going to most impact your life are those you’ve likely already heard.
Principles. Truisms. The stuff of zigging and zagging and oomph. Of agency and perspective, confidence and calm, optimism and endurance. Of seeing the upside, and especially, of having the fortitude to get back up when you’re down.
It’s pareto all over again. The small sum of inputs that account for the bulk of your outputs.
Which is why it bears repeating. Over and over again.
Because changing our circumstances often has little to do with what you know, and everything to do with your mindset and your character. The narrative you’ve been rehearsing. And the choices you make because of it.
