Advice is relative
Something that's taken me a long time to learn: advice is dependent on the person giving it, and the context which it's given.
Sometimes, for example, having an opinion helps. And sometimes it makes you sound like a pretentious jerk.
Sometimes, being out of your element can help you see things in an entirely new way. And sometimes, being over your head can be a handicap (or cause you to be perceived as an outsider).
For someone in the right situation, one approach might work. And for someone else, it might not. The 'solution' is as dependent on the specific situation as the person.
Certainly, some approaches work better than others, and it's wise to seek out advice when you can. But it's also smart to recognize that most 'approaches' are mere opinions, and that a one-size-fits-all-solution-for-everyone is a delusion.
It's a mistake to assume that by strictly following the advice of any one source, you too will get the same result, every time.
