A case for project-based learning
People (i.e., clients, hiring managers, talent scouts) don’t care how much you know unless you have something to prove what you know.
And so if you’re going to learn anything, it’s helps to also plan on making something to show that you’ve learned it.
Moreover, since the best way to learn anything is to do it (as opposed to reading or thinking or talking about it), completing skills-based projects fills two needs:
It helps you learn, and helps you remember.
It helps prove that you know what you’re doing.
And so, instead of reading or thinking or testing for much of anything, it’s really helps if you:
Choose a project.
Learn the skills.
Share It.
Log what you learned.
Repeat.
