Here’s an interesting phenomenon that might occur at your organization:
Someone makes an ambiguous request.
You assume you know what they want.
They become upset when what they get isn't what they wanted.
Clarifying questions are a great way to avoid the conflict that comes when you miss the mark by relying on an inaccurate map.
In fact, compared to the turmoil of creating something only to go back and redo it, asking questions just to be clear is infinitely worth more than ‘inconveniencing someone.’
