Three types of librarians
There are custodians, keepers of keys, and caretakers to books, computers and scanners, alike.
There are the concierges, who's sole purpose is to extend warm greetings, answer inquires and catalog books.
And then there are curators...who have nothing to guard and everything to share. Who connect the dots using whatever means necessary...be it a book or a journal article, blog post or Youtube video. Who don't see their job as the gatekeeper to a warehouse of dead scrolls...but as connector, teacher, and raconteur of an infinite pool of possibility.
In a word, curators curate. The best way they know how. Streamlining the grunt work of discovery and selection for the rest of us.
What an opportunity that is.
